SANI PASS road from South Africa into Lesotho
- Images from left to right:
The drive up the road to Sani Pass is dirt and
steep, extremely steep!!. But the scenery is some of the most spectacular we
have
ever seen. At the top is the Lesotho border and the highest pub in Africa.
The boys just have to have a beer.
The country of Lesotho is high and mountainous
and breathtaking. Below is a typical village in the area from Sani Pass.
Horses in this part of the country are invluable and well used to help herd
the cattle and sheep.

who were selling peaches on the side of the road.

The wildlife in Kruger was really good, a highlight
being watching a small group of old bull buffalo chase off a pride of lions
from a waterhole. There were also lots of
giraffe and good Kudu.

didn't
reward us with any animals, we did see this one bull
elephant.

Botswana:
Heading into the central Kalahari Desert - the first day was very
hot; Macca on the roof of Fred's vehicle, predator (lion)
spotting while
Fred fixes a tyre; a good thunderstorm
early next morning brought welcome rain to dampen down the track and
cool
things down - great for driving!; a very 'rustic'
traditional village in the central Kalahari.
